Voxly Tuition English language courses are designed to be flexible to allow students a choice on when to start and finish their studies. Teachers follow a set syllabus and within this they plan a week’s work (called a Weekly Work Scheme) based on their students’ level and needs.
With this flexibility in mind, Voxly Tuition’s teachers choose materials from a range of reading materials, such as novels, newspapers, and study guides. Study guides and photocopies of specific materials are given to the students in order to accelerate learning and also for reference in their files.
Authentic articles: Teachers often design their own materials based on internet, newspaper or magazine articles, books and plays, and recorded television programmes, which are given to students as informative hand outs.
CDs, DVD & Video: Students do exercises and listening tasks with a tape, CD, or DVDs as and when when appropriate.
Teaching Aids: Teachers use class room based exercises, flash cards, whiteboard and OHPs as and when appropriate.
Zero Materials: Teachers will occasionally give lessons which do not use any materials at all. Instead, teaching will flow naturally, determined from the language which students produce in an initial activity set by the teacher.
We do not limit ourselves to one simple methodology as every student learns differently and will therefore respond to different teaching techniques.
At the lower levels, such as EFL-1 And EFL-2, the focus is on learning to use the language effectively outside the classroom, and to develop confidence in dealing with everyday situations.
At the intermediate levels, you will work on communicating ideas clearly and with confidence. Language will be presented within the cultural context of life in Britain. At the more advanced levels, your expertise is developed further by discussion of topics of a cross-cultural or international variety and you will begin to master the more complex nuances of the language.

Short-term 1 – 4 weeks
A placement test – this assessment will determine which level the student’s English level is and evaluate the main areas to focus on.
Progress sheet provided, with assessment and placement results, teacher’s notes, progression notes and supporting comments.
Weekly progress test.
Marked written work.
Student is provided with an Academic Report at the end of their course.
Tutorial (optional).
Mid-term 5 – 11 weeks
A placement test – the teacher will record the main aims or needs of the student.
Progress sheet provided, with assessment and placement results, teacher’s notes, progression notes and supporting comments.
Weekly progress test.
Marked written work.
Needs analysis tutorial and study plan.
8+ weeks – Exit tutorial by tutor in which the student assesses their own progress.

Long-term 12+ weeks
