These unique programmes will develop your child's ability and nurture their independent study skills, enabling them to much further than beyond the international standard for their age. Your child will complete daily worksheets at home and attend the study centre for a minimum of two hours a week. Your family can benefit from a Free Assessment before enrolling, to identify your child's current level of ability and how Voxly study programmes tailored for your child will help them achieve and succeed.

English Programme

Areas of Expertise:

Children at our “beginners’ level” will study topics such as tricky spelling, pronunciation skills and simple grammar. In particular they will learn the difference between nouns, adjectives, verbs and many other grammatical terms. They will be taught to apply them through tailor-made exercises. Students will be encouraged to develop their creative thinking skills through creative and descriptive writing topics. They will be given guidance on essay structure through essay plan building, and will be taught about simple and complex sentences.

Children who attain a higher standard are encouraged to study more complex topics, which use a wider variety of punctuation and grammar. Our advanced courses include essay writing through various avenues while also encouraging students to critically analyse what they read and portray a balanced argument in what they write. At this level we also aim to teach students poetry analysis. We teach how the use of alliteration, similes, metaphors and many others can help a poet create and emphasise a certain point of view. Creating a clear structure to your work is very important. Structure helps the reader clearly understand and interpret what the writer is trying to portray. We teach students why they should write in paragraphs and how to plan what they write. In the process we teach them about simple and complex sentences. We also help them understand how to connect their paragraphs to help give flow to their essays.

We believe it is important for your child to be able to summarise information concisely and efficiently. Students are taught how to extract the relevant information and to interpret it in a concise form. Our study books hold a number of passages of varying difficulty to help your child learn to efficiently summarise. Our teachers also guide students through the correct summarisation processes.

Students who reach level L and ultimately programme completion will be able to interpret high-level texts such as Shakespeare and Coleridge; they will have learned about critical reading and character analysis; they will have studied types of plot, irony and comedy and about the functions of setting and atmosphere. they will have experienced and will be able of recognise simile, metaphor, symbolism and the substantiate comments and analyses.

Our English courses cover every topic from the simple to the most complex. Our course includes using descriptive language and imagery effectively through to autobiographical and biographical study for more advanced students. We also teach the latest GCSE English syllabus to relevant students.

Our workbooks develop in complexity as students advance through them, this allows students to gradually build their skill set at their own pace and provides them with a strong foundation in English that is crucial for their success. We also provide unique exercises that are designed by their teachers.

Younger students are also given handwriting classes designed to improve their hand to eye co-ordination and their pencil skills.

Mathematics Programme

Areas of Expertise:

Students will become familiar with numbers up to 50 and develop basic concentration and work skills.

As part of our foundation course children will be taught how to add and subtract numbers, as they progress the numbers will become larger and the exercises more difficult. We also encourage students to increase their mental agility through mental math exercises in addition and subtraction given by their teachers.

Our course focuses extensively on Multiplication and Division. We teach multiplication through both the grid and traditional methods. We teach both long and short division, because of the variety of techniques we teach, students are given the flexibility to work with methods they feel comfortable with. We also believe that studying various techniques gives them a broader understanding of the overall concept.

We focus on the fundamentals, helping our students understand the concept of fractions, through diagrams and practical application. We teach the difference between various fraction forms for example equivalent, improper fractions and mixed numbers. Later in the course we focus on addition, subtraction, multiplication and division between fractions.

Negative numbers and algebra are introduced and students learn how to simplify and solve linear equations. Students study simultaneaus equations in up to four variables and work with inequalities before investigating graphs, nomomials and polynomials. Their knowledge of algebra is furthered by studying factorisation and square roots. They also explore parabolas and the Phythagorean Theorem before estudying fractional expressions and irrational numbers.

Students learn the basic properties of functions and later apply their skills in higher degree, fractional, irrational and exponential function. Students extend their knowledge to logarithmic functions before studying derivatives and integrals. Students move on to study the sine, cosine and tangent of certain angles. They also explore a variety of formulas envolving trigonometric functions and later lines and circles and their corresponding equations.

From their study of fractions students move on to learning basic algebra. Students are taught to simplify algebra, and as they progress through their exercise books they learn how to factorise and expand algebraic equations. Once they have a firm foundation they move onto solving algebraic equations; e.g linear, quadratic etc.

Our maths courses focus on teaching strong foundations.

In Maths, we focus on simple topics, such as counting to 100 to more complicated topics such as ratio-proportion and statistics. We encourage students to work independently and develop their own numerical abilities without relying too heavily on calculators.

However we also teach specific calculator skills when they are necessary, for example for national exams Every child starts on a topic and a level that they are comfortable with. This helps us develop their confidence and academic ability at the same time.
